CHAIRMAN
FRANK S. ORRELL
As the team’s senior member, Frank Orrell provides direction and oversight in the creation and evolution of the firm’s investment strategies. Mr. Orrell will focus on entity-level M&A, corporate restructuring and the formation of development joint ventures to assist in scaling the firm’s investment portfolio.
Prior to Strategic Asset Solutions, Mr. Orrell was Chairman and CEO of The Capbridge Group (CBG), an investment management and holding company he founded in 2009. CBG was built through residential acquisitions and asset management, financial entity M&A and restructuring, senior living corporate restructuring, and approximately US$1 billion in large scale development projects in the U.S. Sensing the market was nearing a peak, CBG began to divest its operating subsidiaries and most of its development projects, enabling Mr. Orrell to focus on the new strategies of Strategic Asset Solutions.
Prior to forming CBG, Mr. Orrell was Chairman and CEO of New City Corporation (NCC), where he led the firm’s 2002 leveraged buyout from the former Industrial Bank of Japan and subsequently recapitalized and restructured the entity. From 1999 through 2003, Mr. Orrell served as President of CBRE Investors Japan. NCC was operated under the CBRE Investors Japan umbrella until 2005 when Mr. Orrell led a management team buyout of both entities and the growth of NCC into a significant Pacific Rim investment management entity. Mr. Orrell earned his BA in economics from San Francisco State University.
