Representative Director and Compliance Officer
Akira Nakano
Mr. Nakano has been the Representative Director of SAS Investors since September 2021. He has also served as a Director and Compliance Officer since August 2018.
Since joining Capbridge Group in 2010, he has been Chief Compliance Officer. Prior to that, he supervised the financial accounting operations and in-house compliance at CBRE Residential Management from January 2009 to June 2010. From March 2008 to January 2009, Mr. Nakano was Senior Manager of accounting at New City Corporation where he was engaged in SPC accounting, general tax accounting, and fund structuring.
Previously, he was responsible for SPC accounting and general tax service in the finance department of Secured Capital Japan from October 2005 to March 2008. He managed in accounting audit at Ernst & Young Shinnihon from October 1992 to October 2005.
Mr. Nakano holds a Bachelor of Liberal Arts from the University of Tokyo and is a licensed CPA in Japan. He holds certified compliance officer and ARES certified master. He is also a registered real estate broker (Takken).
CHAIRMAN
Frank S. Orrell
As the team’s senior member, Frank Orrell provides direction and oversight in the creation and evolution of the firm’s investment strategies. Mr. Orrell will focus on entity-level M&A, corporate restructuring and the formation of development joint ventures to assist in scaling the firm’s investment portfolio.
Prior to Strategic Asset Solutions, Mr. Orrell was Chairman and CEO of The Capbridge Group (CBG), an investment management and holding company he founded in 2009. CBG was built through residential acquisitions and asset management, financial entity M&A and restructuring, senior living corporate restructuring, and approximately US$1 billion in large scale development projects in the U.S. Sensing the market was nearing a peak, CBG began to divest its operating subsidiaries and most of its development projects, enabling Mr. Orrell to focus on the new strategies of Strategic Asset Solutions.
Prior to forming CBG, Mr. Orrell was Chairman and CEO of New City Corporation (NCC), where he led the firm’s 2002 leveraged buyout from the former Industrial Bank of Japan and subsequently recapitalized and restructured the entity. From 1999 through 2003, Mr. Orrell served as President of CBRE Investors Japan. NCC was operated under the CBRE Investors Japan umbrella until 2005 when Mr. Orrell led a management team buyout of both entities and the growth of NCC into a significant Pacific Rim investment management entity. Mr. Orrell earned his BA in economics from San Francisco State University.
Senior Managing Director
NORITO MAKIMOTO
Norito Makimoto is Senior Managing Director responsible for deal execution, formulating and implementing asset management strategies, coordination of the closing process and overseeing disposition activity.
Previously, Mr. Makimoto was Managing Director, Acquisitions of Asia Pacific Land overseeing their residential investment fund. Prior to that, Mr. Makimoto was Chief Investment Officer of daVinci Advisors overseeing its acquisition and asset management departments from 1998 through 2009.
During that time, he was involved in over ¥1,449 billion of real estate deals in Japan including approximately ¥57 billion of residential transactions. Before joining daVinci, Mr. Makimoto was involved in real estate investment and development for Kajima Corporation, a large Japanese developer and operator in the US, Europe and Kuala Lumpur.
Mr. Makimoto received a Masters Degree in Real Estate from MIT in 1995 and a Bachelor of Law Degree from Sophia University in 1987.

Daniel ceriano
Daniel Ceriano is an Investment Manager responsible for coordinating the investment process from initial feasibility analysis and project-specific proforma valuation to supporting due diligence, documentation and closing.
Daniel conducts financial analysis of prospective real estate and private equity investments while helping to prepare investment memoranda. Daniel also handles data management and translation/interpretation.
Prior to joining SAS Investors, Daniel spent nine years at JPMorgan Chase as an Asset Based Lending Account Manager in New York City and a Commercial Bank Underwriting Associate for SMEs in Los Angeles.
Daniel holds BA in Business Administration from Hofstra University in Long Island New York (2007) and is a graduate of Stanford University’s Inter-University Center for Japanese Language Studies in Yokohama, Japan (2016). Daniel is fluent in Japanese.
